Charter Oak College, New Britain Stained glass panels totaling 70 square feet surround the doors to the school's lobby. The design incorporates an oak leaf, symbolic of the Charter Oak after which the school is named, and is meant to evoke a feeling of standing under a large tree. Hand blown, hand painted glass with two layers of color is used. The artist has etched or sand blasted the top color layer in certain areas to reveal the underlying color. |
