Colbert's assemblage of seven multi-faced columns are arranged in a way to resemble geometric figures, or students on the move. They range in height from 22 to 109 inches, with the shortest doubling as a sitting bench, and the tallest serving as a "grand gestural figure" sited near the main entrance of the building. The polished, flat surfaces of the forms reflect nearby objects and cast moving light and shadows over the course of the day.
