Nzinga’s Daughters
Program: Nzinga’s Daughters use poetry, stories, and songs from the Underground Railroad to reveal coded messages hidden within Negro spirituals and everyday objects. They have performed this Underground Railroad program at multi-cultural events, schools, colleges, churches, and libraries throughout New England, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ghana, West Africa. Participation from children in the audience is encouraged through the use of African percussion instruments, games, or the reading of small passages.

Requirements: 16’ by 12’ space, six microphones, sound system.

Audience: All ages

Fees: $900 - $1,500.
