Arts Presentation Grants
Grant application and guidelines for FY2011 will be available August 5. Grant deadline will be September 27, 2010.
Arts Presentation grants provide funding to nonprofit organizations, units of state or local government and educational institutions that present events featuring members of the Directory of Performing Artists or Directory of Teaching Artists. Funding is available for up to 50 percent of eligible artist fees. Arts Presentation grants support public performances, concerts, assemblies, demonstrations, 1- to 5-day classroom residencies and workshops. Presenters may apply for more than one artist or performing group for the fiscal year. The maximum grant per year per organization is $3,000. Grants must be matched on a one-to-one cash basis.
Members of the Directories are listed by the following disciplines:
- Dance
- Folklife & Traditional Arts - Literature - Music (including Classical, Contemporary/Pop, Folk, and Jazz) - Multi-Disciplinary - Theater
- Theater/Storytelling
The application deadline is September 27, 2010 for activities that take place between November 5, 2010 and October 3, 2011.
Regional Opportunities for Connecticut Presenters New England Foundation for the Arts ("NEFA") offers a number of grant opportunities for Connecticut presenters in its New England Presenting and Touring programs:
New England States Touring ("NEST"): Provides grants (of up to 50% of eligible artists' fees) to New England nonprofit organizations for performances, readings, and related community activities by NEST-eligible artists listed on MatchBook.org. For Connecticut applicants, the artists must be based outside of Connecticut. Deadlines: First business day of December 2010, March 2011, and June 2011.
Expeditions: Provides grants to New England nonprofit organizations for high quality and innovative touring projects in New England.
Meet the Composer/New England: Offers grants to nonprofit organizations in New England to provide interaction between New England-based composers and audiences, in conjunction with performances of the composer's work.
Presenter Travel Fund: Provides monetary assistance to arts programmers or curatorial staff in New England so that they may investigate new or unfamiliar work outside of their home community.
MatchBook.org: An easy-to-search online cultural directory of New England's performing artists, venues and presenting organizations designed to 'match' artists with presenters that 'book' them for engagements.
