Arts Jobs Preservation Grant Program FY2010

July 24, 2009:   CCT Announces Arts Jobs Preservation Grant recipients

Effects of Economic Downturn Documented by 93 applicants

The Connecticut Commision on Culture & Tourism is pleased to announce the Arts Jobs Preservation Grant Program for FY2010.  CCT has received $306,100 from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.

ARRA recognizes that the non profit arts industry is an important sector of the economy.  In accordance with this Act, the NEA received $50 million (of which $19.8 million have been awarded to state arts agencies and regional arts organizations) to help preserve jobs in the non profit arts sector threatened by declines in philanthropic and other support during these difficult economic times.  The NEA will award the remaining $30 million as direct one-time grants to non profit organizations across the country.

Application Deadline for CCT's Arts Jobs Preservation Program:
May 15, 2009 (received, not postmarked) by 4:00 pm.

May 15, 2009:  CCT received 94 applications requesting a total of $1,590,000 (See map of applicant organizations by Congressional Districts).  Applications will be adjudicated by panelists in June.

Who May Apply:
Eligible applicants must be Organizational Support Program, Local Arts Agency or arts-focused legislatively-directed grantees of CCT for three of the last four fiscal years (FY06, 07, 08, 09). See List of eligible organizations
