Afternoon Workshops - Meet Hartford

Each afternoon, HOT Schools Summer Institute participants will enjoy a field trip to a different venue in downtown Hartford including the Hartford Stage, Hartford Public Library, Wadsworth Atheneum, and the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts. Following a brief tour of the facility and introduction to its programs, the organization will host the Institute’s afternoon activities.

Afternoon workshops will promote partnership development among arts organizations and school educators, the sharing of information about best practices in arts in education, and what Connecticut arts organizations and schools can accomplish together in arts in education.

A variety of Connecticut arts organization and school partners have been invited to participate in a panel presentation each afternoon. Following the panel presentation and Q&A session, participants will work in triads (school team, teaching artist, and organization educator) to collaboratively develop a partnership plan using the CCT’s revised Creative Collaboration Grant guidelines as a model. Teams will be guided by a skilled facilitator. Teams may wish to finalize their planning after the Institute and submit a Creative Collaboration Grant proposal.
