architectural glass
east and west walls of main lobby

The glasswork of David Wilson towers along the east and west walls of the Stamford Courthouse lobby.  At 24 feet high and 15 wide, the wall of glass and the shadow it casts across the lobby floor create a dramatic presence.  The artwork includes dichroic, beveled, and mouth-blown glass accompanied by bits of mirror.  Stainless steel pins and aluminum frames hold the glass panels in place, creating the appearance of floating panels.  The stunning array of patterns in the glass adds richness and a sense of decorum to the traditional courthouse style.
