CCT Artists Directory Showcase

at International Festival of Arts & Ideas

On June 24, 2006, from noon to 5 pm, the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism proudly presents the CCT Artists Directory Showcase – a free event - on the New Haven Green as part of the final day celebration of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas.

Come and enjoy over 30 performances by members of the CCT Artist Directory in jazz, folk music, classical music, drumming, gospel singing, poetry, theater, mime, storytelling, dances of all types, and more. Best of all, meet some of the state’s most talented performing and teaching artists who can present their work in your community. Come find out how you may apply for grants from the Commission to help support your local presentations.

As part of the afternoon, the International Festival will present two free performances on the Green by Los Voladores de Papantla – a Mexican group performing a sacred rite blessing of the earth and sky.

The International Festival of Arts & Ideas fuses “arts and ideas” programs to present a broad array of offerings within and across genres. The 2006 Festival will be held in New Haven from June 10 to 24.
