Making Art Publicly Accessible
 
The Connecticut Office of the Arts promotes and encourages visual arts experiences by providing publicly accessible exhibitions and works of public art throughout the state.  (Select links for further information) 
 
 
COA manages two publically accessible exhibition spaces: The Gallery at Constitution Plaza and the Connecticut Culture Gallery at Bradley International Airport. 
  • The Gallery at Constitution Plaza located on the second floor at One Constitution Plaza in Hartford is dedicated to promoting cultural enrichment and visual understanding of the Connecticut Office of the Arts and its constituent organizations.
  • The Connecticut Culture Gallery at Bradley International Airport includes four exhibition cases that offer rotating exhibitions that provide visitors with a view of Connecticut's cultural richness and the creative talents of its residents.  
 
COA manages a public art program that provides additional opportunities to experience publicly accessible works of art througout Connecticut.
 
  • The Art in Public Spaces program provides the citizens of Connecticut with an improved public environment by investing in creative works of high quality for public buildings.
  • The Connecticut Artists Collection is a component of the Art in Public Spaces program and was established to acquire and publicly exhibit works by major and distinguished Connecticut artists and to preserve the works for future generations.
 
Additional opportunities to access Connecticut artists.    
  • The COA Artist Registry, managed by the Connecticut Office of the Arts, include two categories, the Art in Public Spaces Artist Registry and the Connecticut Artist Registry.
  • Connecticut's Folk and Traditional Arts Program is supported through a partnership with the Cultural Heritage Arts Program (CHAP).  CHAP manages a gallery, conducts online sales and presents the work of Connectcut's ethnic artists through local and regional events.
