Arts Access:
Education and Performance in Communities and Schools

Arts Access: Education and Performance in Communities and Schools program is a multi-layered approach to linking Connecticut communities and schools to high quality performing and teaching artists in the state.  The Program promotes audience engagement and development; community connections; and learning in, about and through the arts.  Arts Access addresses both the needs of presenters (entities such as arts organizations, schools, PTOs, community groups, etc., that hire Directory Artists to conduct performances, workshops or residencies) and of artists/groups who produce the art and artistic experience, thereby encouraging meaningful citizen engagement for all ages.

CCT’s Arts Access program consists of:

1.  A Unified Directory of Connecticut performing and teaching artists who have undergone a rigorous review process

2.  Fee-support Grants

a.  To eligible presenters who engage teaching and/or performing artists from the Directory

b.  To Directory Artists for the development of new work

3.  Professional Development

a.  For Presenters

b.  For Directory Artists
