City Canvas was a one-time initiative bringing mural-based public art into downtown spaces throughout the state of Connecticut. The initiative aimed to enhance public spaces using visual arts as a devise to connect various urban regions of Connecticut through a statewide placemaking initiative. - Created vibrant and energizing artworks around the state and imbed them into major urban areas.
- Was an opportunity to commission artwork by Connecticut artists for highly visible exterior locations in city spaces.
- Created artworks that resonated with the community for which they were created for.
- Included either permanent or temporary works of art which varied in media based on the needs of the community and the space.
