CCT: How do I find, learn more about, and engage a Directory Teaching Artist

The Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) is committed to advancing arts learning through high quality arts engagement, arts integration, arts exploration, creation, and discovery experiences.  In support, COA maintains a Directory of Teaching Artists and an affiliated Arts Learning grant program.*

HOW DO I FIND, LEARN MORE ABOUT, AND ENGAGE A DIRECTORY TEACHING ARTIST?

The Directory provides one (1) page for each artist that may include a photo, contact info, main arts discipline type, short description of artistís offerings, general requirements, appropriate audience, fee structure, work sample, links to social media and web sites, etc. What is included depends on how much information the artist has provided.

You may access the Directory in several ways:

1. Teaching Artists listed Alphabetically

If you know who you would like to contact this is the quickest route to their information.

2. Teaching Artist by Discipline

If you know the type of artist youíd like to hire but donít know their name or want to check out offerings you can select one of the discipline categories below.

  • Dance
  • Literary Arts (includes literature, writing and poetry)
  • Music
  • Theater (includes storytelling, puppetry and circus arts)
  • Visual Arts

    3. Teaching Artists by Category (coming soon).

If you know that you want to do either an arts integration project or a connection/correlation project and you want to see which artists have been juried into a certain category you can select from one of the two below for a linked list of artists in this category by last name or by discipline.

  • Connection/Correlation
  • Integration
