Hazardous Waste Assessment Terminated
PURPOSE: This Announcement alerts taxpayers and tax practitioners that the imposition of the hazardous waste assessment terminated on June 30, 2000.
EFFECTIVE DATE: Calendar quarters beginning on or after July 1, 2000.
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: Conn. Gen. Stat. §22a-132(e).
HAZARDOUS WASTE ASSESSMENT NO LONGER IN EFFECT: With respect to calendar quarters beginning on or after July 1, 2000, the hazardous waste assessment imposed by Conn. Gen. Stat. §22a-132 and administered by the Department of Revenue Services (DRS) is no longer in effect.
RETURN FOR SUBSEQUENT QUARTER TO BE DISREGARDED: Any taxpayer receiving Form OP-223, Connecticut Hazardous Waste Tax Return, for the calendar quarter ending on September 30, 2000, need not file the return, and should disregard it.
EFFECT ON OTHER DOCUMENTS: None affected.
